Citibank Shell Mastercard just closed without notice

I went to my local Taco Bell to buy some food and paid with my Shell Citibank Mastercard, which I have had for years, to have it declined! I have never missed a payment, always paid in full, and have never had any problems with them or that card.
When I called customer service, all they had to say was that my Equifax report had something on it that prompted them to close it.
So lo and behold, I ordered a copy and reviewed it. There is absolutely nothing that is negative in my report so I decided to call back again and this time they said that hundreds of thousands of accounts were closed this morning and that I will be receiving a detailed letter soon as to why.
Have this happened to anybody else?

If Citi cancelled your Shell Mastercard, please tell Shell how dissatisfied you are with this decision and that it will affect your decision to purchase Shell gasoline and other Shell products in the future. Please send your complaint to shellcustomercare@shell.com
Yes, same card, same thing happened.
Yeah, same exact thing happened to me only I was buying a CD instead of taco bell. Always paid balance in full (or close to it) and on time. Them dropping me is killing my previously flawless credit score especially since its my oldest card. So now i have less “credit history” which is hurting me when I need a loan for a car or house. What a discrace…and WE BAILED THEM OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!
